How do you check a throttle cable to see if it is stretched or worn? I have a 1986 60 hp Evinrude. It will not open to WOT. I have not changed anything as far as adjustments. I took the throttle cable loose from the engine and it seems I can move the hard plastic piece that attaches to the motor about 3/4" to 1" on the cable. Should it have that much play? Any help appreciated.
