How can I find what parts I need to convert my 1986 evinrude 15 hp from rope to electric start?

I tried several online shopping sites that have exploded view parts diagrams but they don't show the parts (like flywheel) that I need to make the conversion.

You will find all the parts in the parts lists HERE
but you will have to go through all the various sections and determine which parts are unique to the electric start model. to get you started the flywheel many other parts are in the "ignition" section.

On reflection it may be easier to ID the necessary parts using the lists HERE

I doubt that you will find this a worth while exercise as the number of parts is quite large and therefore the cost too. You will probably find it far more sensible to sell your engine and buy an electric start model

Go to the BRP site http://shop.evinrude.com/
Click on electronic parts catalog, then where you see the drop down list saying Evinrude, click on the down arrow. Then click on OB accessories and follow the prompts to 1986 9.9/15hp electric start kit. It will show you everything that comes with the kit, as well as the complete kit. Click to order. The kit is part number 173344 and the price is $712.98. I suppose I typed all this for nothing, eh?

I had been to both those websites but was always drilling down under "evinrude" not "ob accessories" so couldn't find what I was looking for.

I see on ebay some of the parts I need so I'm hoping I can piece it together from ebay and purchased parts for less than the $700. It probably will be easier to buy an electric start motor so I will check that option out, too.
