Okay, I rebuilt my carb on my 1974 Merc 165 L6 250, and found one of the idle needles had its tip broken off and stuck in the seat. I figured I'd be able to find replacement needles pretty easily. Nope! Any suggestions as to where I can go for a replacement? ebay search yielded nothing.

Re: Rochester Carb 2-GC Idle Needle

Bump!

I found an auto parts store who could get a carb rebuild kit that included the screws - for $40 shipped! Might not be so bad, but I already bought a kit and rebuilt it, just that my kit didn't include the screws.

Still looking for a source for idle screws. . .

You might want to try a carb rebuild shop in your area. I found a used replacement screw for my 2GC at a shop in Costa Mesa, Calif. I also found it helpful to search in person, rather than via phone calls. I think I paid a couple of bucks a few years back. These screws might interchange other models or makes. The tech experts on this forum might help in that regard....good luck on your search....
