I am the king of underpowered towing. I bought my 1994 Toyota 4WD new and have been towing with it ever since. 148k miles and still going strong. It has the anemic 22RE four banger with a whopping 114 hp.:D

xxxflhrci I may have you beat.. S10 with a flex fuel 2.2.. I bought the truck for fuel economy. Bought a boat 3 weeks ago and it looks manlier than my wife's cavalier. She has more horsepower.

Oh yeah. I definitely love my Tundra. I was going to buy an 08 Tundra, but since the new Sequoia came out I'm kind of torn on what to buy....

2001 Expedition Premium Sport package. 4.6l V8, 3.31 limited slip. Love it even with gas being $4/gal here. Great vehicle for the wife who is a stay at home mom. The tall gears and 17" wheels make pulling the boat a bit sluggish compared to my old F-150 with 3.55 gears, but the better MPG and utility make up for that.

My brother has an '87. Our boat's a 19.5' Sunbird/4.3L, 2200# empty. He used to tow it ~80mi round trip a couple times a month. Not great on the hwy, but around the lake, as low as those are geared it's like having a fast tractor.

BTW -

Our boat and my new(er) truck.

Re: Show us your....tow rig.

Well, I am working the dog snot out of my 2002 Isuzu Trooper. It tows the Jonboat just fine. I will find out how it does with my Bayliner this weekend but I'm sure it will be fine considering I use it on a regular basis to tow an enclosed car hauler weighing in around 5200lbs. It is 200 over what I am rated for but it does alright as long as I keep it below 55.

As far as the Toyota's go they tow great. Good gearing will make-up for HP most days. I used a '93 4x4 with the 4cyl to pull my grandad's 24' Grady White walk around cuddy from his house 20mi to the marina in the spring and back in the fall for years. Looked funny as hell but it got the job done, slow and steady.

1990 K1500 with a brand new Jasper 350. I figured if there was ever a vehicle worthy of a new engine it was this completely rust-free truck.

99 Tahoe,5.7 with custom cat-back exhaust, cold air intake and a SuperChips performance program.Locking differential and factory tow package.

It does well for as heavy as my boat and travel trailer are.Handles really nice at 70 mph with a 5500 pound load behind it.:) I use the Reese Dual cam sway control weight distribution hitch.

Re: Show us your....tow rig.

New guy here. The wife and I just picked up our new (to us) boat today.

Tow vehicle is a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 2WD with the 5.3L V8 and 3.73 rear end. Today was my first experience towing anything larger than a sea doo and I was using a 4 banger S-10 for that, needless to say that wasn't much fun in the hills. I didn't have to deal with too many hills, but the Avalanche seemed perfectly capable.

Our boat is a 2003 Regal 2200 with the 5.0 MPI and an Alpha One. Taking it on our maiden voyage Sunday, if I can get the bilge blower fixed tomorrow (I don't like to explode.)

Re: Show us your....tow rig.

well that didnt work, i use a 98 suburban 5.7, with programmer, 9in lift, 4.88 gears with a locker, and 36in tires to pull my 96 proline 220 cuddy fish, and it pulls fine now that i got a new nextrail aluminum tandum axle with bunks.
