I have a 1975 Mercury 65hp 3 cylinder, twin carb outboard. It has good compression, good spark on all cylinders(new plugs as well).I've got new fuel in it.The problem is it will not fire on #2(middle) cylinder.I tried running a short time with no water in cooling system in case water was getting in combustion chamber. Also tried squirting a small amount of fuel in cylinder through spark plug hole in case it has a broken reed and not getting fuel.(the plug seems dry when pulled).I thought with good compression, good spark and fuel it should fire)
Is it possible that #2 cylinder will not fire with the above tests because of bad reed...or?

Running a motor without water is a good way to ruin a motor. Even a short time can destroy the impeller as water is the only lube it gets. With the lecture out of the way it sounds like you need to rebuild your carbs.
