I just bought a used boat that came with the 225 Ocean Runner after following the troubleshooting guides for no spark, I went ahead an ordered a new power pack. I would like to add an rpm gage. Anybody know where would i connect this to?

The fuel line seems to have an additional connection that is capped-off for oil injection. Can i just buy any oil injection tank and hook it to that line?

Thanks for the help!

You may be able to add the oil tank. The system needs to be tested. A lot of owners switched to premix when the electronics failed and just used the OMS as a lift pump rather than a mixing system because of the cost of replacing them. The pump electronics cannot be repaired, nor can the oil side of the pump. There is a kit to keep the gasoline side repaired, so it can be used for premix.

If you have the side mounted control you may have the plug for the tachometer built in below the ignition key; look for a black three wire plug.

Otherwise you need to take the positive and negative wires from the ignition switch and the gray sender wire from the main harness. You can connect a blue wire for lighting to one on another gauge.

Bless your heart! I DO see a plug under the ignition key! Now? IF I buy a tach from Napa or anywhere else? How do I hook-up to that plug?

The BRP OMC dealers have tachometer kits that include the harness. Teleflex charges a lot for the harness as an accessory for their tachometers. I have no idea what Faria provides. I use the OMC BRP kits but I know the Teleflex tachometers are good, it's just that the wiring harness is overpriced in my not so humble opinion. http://www.iboats.com/Teleflex_Tach...14434833--**********.181490332--view_id.40245

Check with a dealer first and then do some price comparison: http://dealerlocator.evinrude.com/en/410000.shtml
