Is there a quick way to force the warning buzzer for Overheating to go off?

Like, if I heated the temp sender up artificially? How could i do that? Thoughts?

Just ground the wire from the temperater SWITCH, not the gauge sender. All the switch does is closes the circuit to ground above a certain temperatrue, causing the alarm to sound.

I think he is trying to find out if the switch works though.

Test the circuit the way Don suggested or if the switch is in question, put it in a pot of boiling water and verify it switches when hot.
