If I have a 200 amp deep cycle battery and it is dead. Does that mean it will take 20 hrs to charge at the rate of 10 amps?

Re: charging rate?

In theory it does. Probably not in the real world. Probably take longer.

Yes, but it should really take less time than that. When a battery is "dead" it usually still has power. Therefore, you aren't actually replacing all 200 A. A 200 A battery is pretty large. If you can it would be better to charge it at 15-20 A. However, a deep cycle battery should be charged with a precise deep cycle charger, not your standard automotive charger. You want an automatic marine or deep cycle battery charger that drops the final charge down slowly to about 2 A.
