I recently purchased a boat because I wanted to go fishing, and it came with this motor. I need to know what all the wires mean that are running from it, as of the moment nothing is hooked up. Here is what I do know:

Throttle says simplex
Switch pannel's/ignition- MEP#099 , A-W-M

I honestly just need to know which wires I hook to what.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Before we can make sense with any answers we give, we need to know what motor you have. There is no such thing as a 1965 Lark 35hp.

A 35hp Lark would be 1957-59
A 1965 Lark would be 40hp, and would be electric shift...the Simplex control would not work on that.

Come up with a model/serial number and get back with us.

Here is a picture of the cover. I cant find any numbers anywhere. I'm not a boat specialist, it was super cheap and I just want to get it running.

Look for a silver-colored disk about the size of a quarter on the side of the powerhead. Report those numbers. The experts on this forum, which I am not, can help you through any issue with the motor. Good luck?
