Good boating starts with good maintenance.

16 things I thought were important for a successful season on the water. I got some of these from a boating magazine.

1. Lube everything
2. Change your Drive Unit Oil every 100 hrs.
3. Check Trim and tilt pump oil. Change every 100 hrs.
4. Get rid of old fuel and oil. Fuel only lasts 30 days.
5. Clean off fishing line and anything caught on your prop.
6. Clean out the carburetor ports and F.I. injectors. Some are only as big as a hair.
7. Change Fuel/water separator if it does not work. Some say change every year.
8. Take anything like fishing line and strands of ski rope out of your propeller shaft housing. It could work its way right into the bearings.
9. Check the radiator water impeller and the shaft that drives it. Replace the impeller if there is any doubt.
10 Poor wiring can ruin the electrical system and
gauges. Run your circuits like DC and not AC.
11. Battery cables need to be clean and in good repair. If the starter does not get enough power it will burn up.
12. Don?t force a throttle control or any lever. It could lock up and become unmovable.
13. Take the prop off once a year and check.
14. Get a line trimmer attachment for the prop. It cuts line and rope as it turns.
15. After winter be careful when you lift the ENGINE COWL. There could be a nest of bees or wasps.
16. Take your bilge plugs out and let you boat stay drained when it is being stored out side.

Its time to get out on the water!! :D
