Just picked up a new-to-me 2001 Yamaha 25 hp 4-stroke on a Carolina Skiff J14... The positive battery cable is shot - anyone know what gauge wire this is and do I have to use "marine" rated wire when replacing it?

If I have to use "marine" rated wire, any suggestions for a reputable online parts place? (Never shopped boat stuff online before...)

Other than the cable, the boat and motor are in really good shape. Looking forward to spending many a morning floating on the river, pretending to be fishing...

Go to your nearest Yammy dealer and you will be able to get the lead off their parts rack; dont fool around with seconds or homemade brands unless you know what you are doing.
