Hi all
This is my first post and most probaly first of many.
I have been reading alot of threads over the past few evenings after purchasing a dory with a Mercury clasic fifty (redband???) 45hp year 1986.
As you will see from the pics i have a stuck drive shaft and a second hand gearbox to refit, But i cant knock drive shaft off ,and boat engine has all the stearing loom and gears and throttle all linked up, making it difficult to turn upside down to lubricate , and to make matters worse the engine has a security lock on one bolt and i have no key to it.??.Has anyone got any ideas at all on how i need to approach this problem.let the pictures explain.I have allready tried knocking the drive shaft down to free joint for the last two days to no avail, i will appolagize if pics are on the big side couldnt resize without loosing pics.
