I just bought a 1978 Mercury Model 45, 4.5hp Outboard. I have a couple of questions about it's operation.
1.) This is being used on a Sailboat, and when I lower the motor into the water, the tiller has to be in the up position due to lack of clearence with the transom, in the up position I am unable to turn the throttle. The throttle works fine when it's lowered, but I have to have the motor angled away from the boat then counter the direction with my rudder. Is there somthing else I'm missing, or a fix/modification?
2.) It has a little toggle below the choke switch that is labled "Troll", what exactly does it do?
Thanks for any help.
Eric
