The threads on my flywheel are indistiguishable. Anyone know what they are?(a HeliCoil will suffice right?)
Thanks!

All agree? I want to be exact since I'm correcting them.
Thanks

Re: Flywheel thread

don't really understand the question. if you are talking about the holes for the puller, they very well may be full of threads, from a soft bolt someone tried to pull flywheel.

Yes that is what happened, the threads have been stripped out. I can't tell what size they were. I've been lucky getting the flywheel off.

Re: Flywheel thread

i believe F_R is correct. what happens when using a soft bolt, is the threads are left in the flywheel from the bolt. try taking a tap and work them out.

Tap up to the next size bolt instead of the helicoil, even if you go to metric. I don't think the helicoil repair is strong enough.

I agree. The helicoil will rip right out. Go one size bigger and re tap into fresh metal.
