I recently aquired a Evinrude Elto Pal and was wondering where to look for information about it such as:
What year is it?
Horse power?
where to find parts?
How much is it worth?
What is the gas/oil mix ratio?

the serial number is 4266 04948
The patent is 1935 Canadian
Made in Milwaukee Wis.

The motor is in good shape but needs a good cleaning. The fuel that was in it has has jelled. There is compression and spark, but I'm sure the carb needs a good cleaning and rebuilding.

Any help you could give me would be great.

Thanks

Re: Evinrude Elto Pal

It is a 1939, 1.1hp., mix is 1/3 pint per gallon. Parts, if there are any, by posting a free want ad on Webvertize classified ads page at Antique Outboard Motor Clubs' website www.aomci.org
Don't ask over there what it's worth...they aren't allowed to answer that one.

Re: Evinrude Elto Pal

I own a number of antique outboards and have sold a few. I still have a Pal, as well. From having sold some antique motors, I can tell you antique motor collectors are a very cheap lot. Unless you motor is immaculately restored, you'll be lucky to get anything over $100, even if it's a runner. You can buy a beautifully restored Pal for ~ $1000.
