1973 7.5 HP Evinrude lower unit reassembly question
My bud has a 1973 long shaft 7.5 HP Evinrude. He disassembled the lower unit a number of years ago. I was going to try and help him put it back together.
He has two correct manuals; a SELOC and a Clymer. Looking through both, the exploded drawings of the lower units look identical, but...
When I compare the parts in the box with the pics, I end up with two washers that don't appear to be in the pic. Both are e same size, one could go on after the prop. The other is more like a wave washer or spring washer, and I can't figure where it goes.
Yes you can post a picture. You can upload it as an attachment. If it is already on a photo-hosting site such as Photobucket you can insert it into your post using the tags or post a link to it.
Re: 1973 7.5 HP Evinrude lower unit reassembly question
Okay, I went to the site posted above. It does not show any 7.5 HP motors in the year range.
Talking to the owner, he thinks it is actually a '76 model--model number is E8RLCIC, serial is E00019xx as best he can read. If anyone can verify that an/or help resolve the lack of a diagram for this model, I'd be grateful.
He does not have a digital camera, he is in AL and I am in TX, so this is a long-range, long-shot project.
