Question '91 mariner 150 stator amp?

Hi, I'm looking for the correct stator for my 150 mariner. Old stator failed the Ohm test, low speed winding 0 ohm!!! Now I need to confirm the correct stator for this engine.
Mariner 150
Year 1991
Model No. 7150412YD
Serial No. ODO44180

Old part No. 3985454A36 Was this the correct stator as it's a 16 amp. Most of the other Mariner 150's I've seen have the 40amp stator. After reading the great info in these posts I'm gonna go with CDI this time!!

At £200 I just want to be sure!!!
Thanks
Alan

Someone may have swapped a 40 for a 16. I've done it.

Post a picture of the flywheel, just so I can see the top. I'll tell you which it is.

hope it helps
John

Hi, can't upload apic at the mo. It's a smooth flywheel cover not the vented one and the flywheel only has 3 emergency starter cord lugs on it as opposed to the serated edge on the flywheel that some others have. oh and it is a single rectifier set up. hope this helps in due to lack of a photo.
