Motors will not throttle up in reverse. The OMC control box was recently removed and replaced when the center console was painted.

The motors shift into reverse at idle but when I attempt to move the lever further to the rear to increase engine speed I have little or no throttle control.. I feels as if the cables are hung up on something. I can push the button to disengage the shift cable and the reverse throttle cable movement is fine.

Shifting into forward and forward throttle control is normal.

I have a factory manual for these motors but it does not cover any functions of the OMC control box.
