I have a 1984 24' bayliner cuddie cabin cruiser with trim tabs but no gauge. The engine is a 225hp volvo penta. My question to the group is looking to see if anyone has some experience in installing a gauge and what type of gauge I should look at.

I can't speak about your boat, but i did just do the same to my 89 Arriva. Had both tilt and trim senders but no gauge. Went to cabella's and bought a Teleflex brand gauge for Mercruiser, the wires were already under the dash. Brown/white from the sender, hook up the ighition, lights and ground. That was it. Pretty easy. Like i said, not sure if your boat is the same but even if the wires were not in the consule, it wouldn't have been too bad.
