HELP! - How Do I Find The Evinrude Identification No#??

Hello,

I am new here and need some help. I had purchased a used (20 HP Evinrude Tiller) outboard and was wondering if anyone in this forum can help me identify this motor?? Regarding the (year, type, and features, etc). I had noticed the nameplate on the mounting bracket was missing, so I have no way of identifying this outboard. I think it was built in the 90's, that I am guessing, but not sure. I did find a "silver core plug" on the side of the cylinder head with (R8529738) stamped on it... Can anyone HELP!

Most powerheads with R preceding the serial number are factory replacement powerheads and would not help with year.

If the 1" X 3" plate on the port transom bracket is missing, pictures might help id the rest of the motor.

I think that is a 1990 cowl. Someone will confirm or deny that I am sure, so keep checking back.

Thanks for your input. I think too its a 1990, but i dunno. I'll keep checking back though, maybe someone can shed a little more light.
