Default Zincs (anodes) for salt water use?

Hi-
Just bought a freshwater Smoker Craft boat for salt water usage. It's a 15 footer. We also own a pontoon boat. I'm scratching my head over the fact that there is no sort of holder or coupler to mount a zinc below the waterline on the stern. The former owner drilled some holes for a depth finder...should I just do the same for the zinc?
Thank you,
