great boat, with 5.0 or 5.7 power plant. 4.3 would be absolute minimum.

Re: Hurricane Sundeck 2000?

Must be new for 2008. looks like more of a deep vee than the old "cat 5" trihull design. I have one of the older (only 2 years!) more boxy sundecks, wider at the front, very little dead rise, and not nearly as sporty a windshield.

I think the 2000 should handle chop much better than the older styles (3 degrees more dead rise), but it looks as if it has less room inside (USCG rating of 9 persons for a 20 footer vs 10 with old style). .

It looks like the least "decky" of the deckboats. Depends on what you want.

Get a larger motor, they can switch it out. This boat is rated for for a 225, I would go 180 minimum, better at 200. You will not regret it/

Thanks guys. I'll talk to the dealer and see what kind of deal he could make on the F200 in place of the F150.

rule of thumb for HP rating, is 70% of rated HP is minimum.. rated at 225 x .70 = 157hp. 200hp on 225 is 88%
