I am rebuilding this old 15 foot trihull that I found as a deck and hull. I have no idea what brand it is as it has no ID plate.

The windsheild , trim and rubrail are all Bloodwood as we have a lot of it here in the Amazon . The seats are being apholsterd now and it will be ready in a few days for a motor.

We have Yamaha and Johnson available. My question is what HP should I put on it. It will travel only on the Amazon and with a maximum of 6 people but nice heavy foreigners.

Thanks , Jim

Jim

Years ago I had a 15' Bee Craft fiberglass tri-Hull and it had an 85 HP Evinrude. Move plenty of heavy foreigners, you bet ya.

Good Luck,

Jim

Hard to tell for me. My 15 footer is rated for 40HP.

Re: How much HP ?

hp rating (in the us) is goverened by the uscg.......

the calculations for max hp are in the cg rules at the top of this forum.

it is a legnth and beam calculation.

uasually 15 hp under max is minimum.......(experiance) and 15 over is redneck ! :D
