Default 5 wires from 2000 Mercury 75HP control box

I need some help, does anyone know what the 5 wires that come from the control box and the engine harness are for. I'm pretty sure that they are for the gauges.....can anybody tell me which color is for what gauge?

It would help if you provided wire colors and whether the ignition switch is in the control box or on the console. The wires are not ALL for gauges since only the tach and trim gauge are engine specific. All other gauges are boat specific and not included in the engine harness.

ignition switch is in the control box, there is a purple wire, a gray wire, a black wire, a brown & white wire, a beige & blue wire and a beige wire...the brown & white and beige & blue and the beige wire looks like they are not being used.
I took this off my old boat......I think that the purple wire is hot when the ignition is on, the gray is for the tack and the black is ground......am I right?
