Hi all.
I've got a Sears Gamefisher 7.5 (271-585850) (new to me) that has a standard magneto / points ignition. The motor is very hard to start and will not stay running for more than 5 or 10 seconds when it does fire. Sometimes it sounds like it is back firing when it tries to fire. Have replaced points, coil and condensor. When checking the timing, the low end was pretty close, but the points opened way earlier then expected when checking the fast side. I can not get things adjusted to match what the service manual describes. Magnets are good and tight on the flywheel. The carb has been rebuilt as well. Compression checked at 80.
Not sure what else to do at this point. Any ideas would be appreciated.
