Hello,
I have a Maxum w/90 HP outboard with power tilt/trim. With the power tilt/trim, if I trim all the way up or down, will the trim motor automatically stop or can I possibally burn out or hurt the motor? When trailering there is a metal bar placed under the outboard and the motor is lowered onto it. Should I just barely rest the outboard on it and is it possible to lower the outboard to much and hurt something? Sorry for my ingnorance and thanks for any answers.

You didn't state the year. This will probably help. When running you trim up till you feel it loose power. Then when running trim it to the best performance spot.Making sharp turns you will need to lower to keep at optimum speed. For trailering let it down on the bar and retract it untill you hear the trim motor bog down. That will keep the cylinder out of the elements.Jerry
