Neutral problem

Hi, I recently got a Evinrude 1956 15hp fastwin, when I pull the rope to start, the prop turns even when in neutral. If the motor is in neutral, and I turn the prop by hand its like its in gear still Whats up? Thanks

I don't know about the 15

I have a 1954 3 hp, no shift lever, no neutral, motor will turn 360 as many times as you want to!

Turn 180 and that's reverse.

If it has a shift lever then something is wrong and needs attention, one of the old timers will find your post and respond.
