I got an old evinrude from a friend and just got it running. It had not been ran in over a year. I am going to search for a new impeller for this motor. When I do get the new impeller, is there anywhere that I should see water coming out to let me know its cooling properly? If not how can I verify it is?

Also I can't get it to run without having it fully choked. I took the carb completely apart and throroughly cleaned all parts with Gumout (no carb rebuild kit), but still no run without full choke.?????

Any help is appreciated, thanks guys.

No telltale as far as I know,

If it runs on the choke but not without then either it is not adjusted correctly or the carb is still not clean. Poke a soft copper wire though the jets and passages.
