merc 75hp elactrical problem

I have a 75 hp merc 4 cylinder ser # A169505 that has no spark. I tested the stator and I get no ohm reading between the blue and blue and white leads. I get a reading of 148 ohms between the red and red and white leads. I get no reading between the blue lead and ground. Is the stator bad? And can anyone tell me what year the motor is.

It is a 1985. You should read 5,700 - 8000 ohms between the blue and ble/white leads. 56-76 ohms between the red and red/white leads. Looks like you have a bad stator.
