I'm slowly getting this engine rebuilt and checking wire diags, etc. I have 3 sources for diagrams and they all reference either a generator or alternator. Mine has neither. Did they build one w/o, or has someone taken this one off and left it to run on the magneto. It runs well.
Also, what is the Shifter lock-out lever for?
Thanks again.

The generator is only needed for the electric shift model. You indicate that you have standard shift so ignore the generator portion of the wiring diagram.

The vertical shift lock out arrangement is so that the engine cannot be shifted out of gear into neutral when the throttle is set beyond a certain point...... a safety feature.
