1997 Mercury 200 EFI

Boat will not start unless I use starting fluid. But when it does it runs great. When I try to restart it will kick over, but then bogs down and dies....then needs starting fluid to start again. i have changed plugs, all fuel filters and replaced diaphrams. Any suggestions? Thanks

You will kill your engine using starting fluid. Use premixed gas.

Either you are using an incorrect starting procedure or your engines cold start enrichment system (choke, primer) is not working.

Thanks. I will replace the primer and see if that works. If you get a sec can you tell me the coorect starting procedure. 1.prime bulb 2. push key in for 1 or 2 sec. in on postition 3. turn key to start position. Again thanks for the info.
