Hi there, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with tilt/trim motors. I was in the process of changing out my hydrolic fluid and wanted to take a look inside the motor itself (which by the way looks very interesting). But in this case curiosity has potentially killed my wallet.
this is the Nissan tilt/trim motor Part # 3C7N771800M, i think. there was nothing but 2 hex bolts holding it on. when I tried to put the casing back on the motor it wouldn't go, it looks as if the bushings or little magnets are spring loaded on the back and are pushing towards the middle so as not to allow the motor to fit all the way back inside.
I have spoken with one mechanic and he suggested tying some fishing line to the "little magnets" to hold them back and then once I have the casing in place clip them, however I am not sure how to do this since it seems like the case will be closed, so how would I cut the line? Anyways any and all help, opinions, and/or past experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.
