I have a 1988 bayliner with a omc 235 hp, 5 litre i/o. I took it out today and noticed that this boat uses a whole lot of gas. I filled it up (30 gallons), and in 4 hours it was empty. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to save gas? Any info. would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Fve liter V-8....at its lowest state of tune,12 gal per hour...you got 2 choices, pull the throttle back or turn the key off....

Definately agree with Odd1, small block v-8 is going to suck up the gas budget. All you can do is keep the hammer back.

Find some friends who have lots of gas money. <br />But back off the throttle anyway. Otherwise, you're going to find out how much it costs to replace that motor. (HINT: It's a LOT more than a car engine!)
