Good day all, I am wanting to install a Rule thru hull livewell pump into my fiberglass boat. The transom is 2" thick, which type of drillbit/holesaw would be the best to use.
The hole required is 1'.

you are going to have to use a flat (spade) bit. drill a 3/16 pilot hole, then start from inside, to get thru the surface, now go outside and drill in. this cutdown on splintering on the inside.

Hole sall works veary well, spade bit can chip the gell cote measure the spot you want on the inside from the hull seam or rubrail and transfer that to the outside. drill 1/4" hole then drill part way on the in side and finish from the outside.
