I wanted to install a gas/water seperator in line to my 1984 Volvo Penta AQ125A. Then I remembered reading here that teflon tape should not be used on a marine engine....My question then is what product can I safely use to seal between the brass fuel fittings at the inlet-outlets on the body of the seperator.

I use the permatex Aviation 3D gasket sealer (From any auto parts), or Merc Perfect seal, Permatex also makes a special pipe dope for fuel fittings, but it's really not necessary.
