I have what I believe to be a '67 CD24 6hp. I inherited years ago from my now ex-wife's grandfather. They had a home on the water on Orcas Island in Puget Sound. It was most definitely used in salt water, and has now been stored since probably the early '90s. Other than the latch for the cowl being completely stuck ( I broke it of course, but I got it off
), it really seems to be in remarkable condition. I know the man was very diligent with regards to maintenance on his cars and homes. Even though he was not inclined, he had the money to have everything done and done right. It would not surprise me if he had it serviced before storage.
Anyway, of course, it wont start- I'm sure you've all heard it a million times.
Where should I start? It turns over, has good compression, coughs and tries to start on a little starter fluid. Fuel pump works great, plugs look great, recoil starter is in great shape. I'm sure it's just a little carb issue, but I can't even really see where to begin pulling it off.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
