Subject, 1978 Mercury 150 HP Black Max.
Question, Can someone please give a brief description of the cooling water system, how it works, the path the water flows, etc.? Also can you tell me how to connect a water pressure guage to this engine? On a warm engine at idle speed should I see water coming from the tell tale? There are two ports on the rear of the engine just below the cowling, these have a water flow at idle but none from the tell tale! Is this an indication the water pump is in need of repair?
