Default Mariner 135 Hard Start After Fueling

My O/B starts fine except after visiting the gas dock. Then it takes a while...seems flooded. I reprime but nothing. In a couple of minutes it starts rough but then smooths out. Hints?

Does it do it after all warm restarts, or just after getting gasoline? You should not need to reprime or choke the motor.

The rest of the warm starts are fine...just fueling.

You probably have a layer of chit in the bottom of the gas tank that you're stirring up when you refuel.

Park the boat/trailer on a side hill, curb, grandma's lawn or whatever to tilt the boat in the direction of the fuel filler. Insert a siphon hose so that it gets to the lowest part of the tank. Siphon out one quart into a fruit jar (pickle jar will work in a pinch). Look at it and decide what to do.

hope it helps
John
