Moving fuel tank, does hose diameter matter much?

I'm planning on moving my fuel tank (portable) to the bow of my 18' aluminum boat.

It has a 40hp Suzuki (4 stroke EFI). It currently has a 8' 5/16" inside diameter hose. If I extend the hose to 16' (a new clean hose, not a splice), should I go with a 3/8" inside diameter? Does it matter.

I do have a fuel filter in the line.

My concern is the fuel pump not being able to draw well with the added length. I think I am over thinking it...

Thanks,
Steve

it'll be okay...6/16 is better than 5/16. you'll pressurize the line with the primer bulb, and the pump won't know the difference.
