Default My latest project, 14ft aluminum deep V

Well I picked this one up for $100 without the trailer so I had to use one of my other trailer. I have no idea what make this boat is, I did get a bill of sale for it but it doesn't even have the numbers on the side, I found what should be the serial number plate. I have some big plans for this thing. Even though it is a deep hull I was thinking about setting the bow up as a casting deck. I didn't recieve a steering system with this boat but I have one older style and one newer style hidden in there somewhere.

I honestly was looking for a semi V or flatbottom boat when I came across this one but I couldn't pass this one up. This boat here should handle up to a 40hp if not a hair bigger, I have just the motor to put on it, the 1957 35hp Evinrude . On the sides I was thinking of cutting a tire and bolting it down so it would create a non slip surface but I think it would make it look tacky though. I couldn't believe it came with 2 complete older style pedestals and 1 incomplete. All the wooden framing for the closed bow looks in good shape, I don't know if they have replaced that already or not but I'm going to leave that alone. Bad part is they used small wire for the whole wiring throughout the boat so I might as well look forward to replacing that. The hull looks to be in great shape.

Here are some pics.

I figured I would take the easy route . I have no earthly idea what their rules/laws are on the hull numbers or paperwork. I do know that they are not strict on titles for older boats. They wanted every bit of info on the old bass boat project, even though it didn't include a motor they wanted the motor listed on the bill of sale even though I told them that it didn't have a motor when I got the hull . The bass boat did have the numbers on the side though. I love MBS or motor motor boats

The previous owner of the boat and my father didn't want to believe me when I told them that this one piece in the picture was the splash well it was just laying in the boat at the time. The previous owner bought the boat like it is because his neighbor was being harassed by the city to clean up his yard. I made a 120 mile round trip to get this boat. I could have got the trailer for $50 but it needed work plus it looked like it was missing parts. I have extra paint that came with the boat so I should be able to paint the splash well and maybe other parts of the boat if needed, I honestly didn't look at the paint all that close to see what type it is. I believe all the pieces are there for the boat. If at all possible I'm going to try and use 2 pieces of
2x8 for the transom, but it might be to thick.

Here is the picture of the splash well that I just proped up in place.
