I recently purchased a 1939 2.0 hp Envirude outboard motor. It runs perfect, but it leaks fuel from a pin that is connected to the LEAN lever. The pin goes into a bowl. I took the motor to my local boat dealer and he indicated that I'd need to take the motor a part and most likely make some sort of float from cork. I was hping somebody else had done this and could provide info so I didn't ruin this very cool motor. Thanks....

The fibrous packing around that needle/pin is worn out or gone. Need to replace it with a couple of packing washers. Some people make their own out of felt or twine, but you should still be able to get them. Try Engine, Blade & Prop in Milwaukee or Laings Outboards or Twin City Outboards...they will need your model number.
