how hard would it be to change the out drive impeller water pump. Just got my boat out and found out that it is overheating and there was plastic pieces down under my fins where the water intake is. I am mechanical inclined

fairly easy if your mechanical,
you have to remove the outdrive and separate the upper & lower units.
I would suggest you purchase a manual & follow the steps.

Remove the whole thing?????????? I havent done mine yet, but far as I know/thought it was just the lower half, and heard people doing it at the lake....

Ayuh,.....

You Can drop just the Lower,.....
But most of Us pull the Whole drive because of all the Other Things that should be Looked at Yearly......
