Quick 1967 80 Electramatic L/U pull question

I removed the 8 bolts from the lower unit , it slid out about 4 inches and then stopped. I cant figure out were its binding or still attached. any ideas?

did you disconnect the shift wiring, and push it thru the lower cowl?

If you didn't disconnect the shift wire, you are about to make a very expensive blunder!! It disconnects near the thermostat housing, then remove the plate from the midsection housing, pull the wire down through that opening, then remove the inner plate behind that and pull it off the wire. then tie a string or something to the wire for pulling it back up through when you reinstall it. THEN you are ready to drop the lower unit without ripping that priceless cable in two.
