I wonder if this length PVC guide ons will be tall enough for a 89 Capri Cuddy?
Tall enough meaning, ok the trailer is backed in at the ramp and i'm ready to load. The rear of the trailer is submerged 1.5' which means 30 inches of PVC is above water line. Will the PVC be tall enough to reach the rub rails? 48" up from my trailer frame puts the top of the PVC about a foot above the gunwale. But with the trailer submerged, that leaves only about 30" stcking out of the water.

Just trying to determine if I need 60 inch guide ons. The store i'm going to purchase them from sell bass boats with not as tall sides and they only carry 48" tall guides. Hmmmmmmm.............

Re: 48-50" Guide On's

I just installed a pair of 48" this season and they work great.
It seems like you did the math, but consider this too; the water to rubrail measurement is increased as you move to the bow, where you'll first incounter the posts.
I'd go ahead and get the 48", they hardly leave a mark anyway (if at all) when guiding the boat on.

When u install them u can also rotate them on the trailer so that when your on the ramp the guides are straight up.

Re: 48-50" Guide On's

Ok bought some guide on's but they only extend 13" out from the 3" frame. I have 22-25" out from the frame to the rub rail on the boat sides. Will not work. Can't even mount to the 2"x3" cross member due to fenders and spring mounts. Crap!! Can't find any guides that extend out from frame 22".
Anyone else have an Escort trailer with the frame so far inward from the sides of the boat? Any pictures of guides mounted with longer extended tubes outward, 22-25"?

Looks like I will have to build my own guides. Nothing seems to be easy.
