I have a 25 hp Evinrude 1990 and although there was probably a different type of steering setup on it before I got it, I want to set it up with a steering tube. I used to have an older (meaning 74) 85 hp and the tube inside diameter seemed to be 3/4 inch or so if I remember correctly. Looks like the tube on this 25 hp is much smaller perhaps... but don't want to buy the steering setup if I don't have to. Are the evinrude steering tubes different diameter or are they all the same, even through all the different hp sizes?
