3.0 Merc to Volvo swap

Impressive forum gang, I just found you and wow. I have acccess to a 1998 SeaRay with a Merc 3.0 that is cracked, and I have a 2000 Volvo 3.0, will it fit? And how much trouble is it to bolt a Volvo to a Merc outdrive?
Thanks for any info you can give me.

It's the same exact engine block and head, just replace the Volvo exterior parts with the Merc.

Ayuh,..... They're Carbon Copies......

But,.......
Only at the Long Block configuration........
Everything thing bolted to the Long Block has to be Swapped.....
'cause they're 2 Very Different motors when Dressed.............;)
