Sunday was the first day of the season for me...was a very good day out at New Melones lake,( for those of you that are familiar) the boat ran very good, except this thumping noise that happened about 3 times or so...this is the situation-siting idle, move lever forward and boat starts to move, less than 5 seconds later, a slight thump noise coming from the outdrive I assume. It happened when I eased on the throttle, and it also happened when I mashed on the throttle. Other than that it ran good...anyone know what this might be???

Could be rounded clutch dogs on the gears. And it could have been caused by needing a new shift cable.
Only way to know for sure is check the cable adjustment BY THE BOOK, if all is ok, then the shift dogs need looked at.
