Mercury oil tank, how long?

I have a 1990 90 horse mercury, and have not had a chance to take it out yet. I was curious, how many hours of use can you get out of those oil injected tanks, before having to put more oil in? I run 2, 6 gallon spare gas tanks, and was just wondering how long the oil will last usually. Thanks

You'll use about a quart of oil with 12 gallons of gas at 50:1.

Weaver, Does that motor just have the engine mounted oil tank (no tank in the boat)? If so Merc has a spec for oil usage at WOT. It was 5-10 hours at WOT. Practically speaking you need to check it every time you gas up. it also makes sense to top it off every time it is below 1/2 full.

Also, put a qt bottle of oil in the bilge of the boat, for emergency fill up or if the system fails, you can mix it into your gas and drive it home.
