I recently bought a 1990 Wellcraft Eclipse 186 w/ a 4.3L, 2bl mercarburetor, Alpha One stern drive, Quicksilver 48 16316 A5 19P prop. (solid, well-kept, love at first sight-I think my wife is jealous). Its new elevation range will be 5000-7000 ft. (originally <1000ft). I know there will be a 15% (3% per 1000 ft) drop in rated horsepower and the recommended timing advance increase is 2 degrees per 5000 ft. What is the jet size they typically used in this carburetor? Secondly, are there any ?rules of thumb? for rejetting this carburetor to account for changes in elevation?

Thanks-The wealth of knowledge in this forum is truly priceless. I think I?ve learned here than I have reading the service manuals.
