I have a 90HP V4 1993 Evinrude that starts well cold but on the water when I go to move will often take a long time to start.
There doesnt seem to be any consistency to this problem which makes it hard to desrcibe and get repaired.
It sounds like it is not getting fuel, but when it finally starts a lot of fumes and excess fuel is spewed out.
Any thoughts?

sounds like flooding honestly. i'd do a good full check anyway, spark, compression, so on so forth

Also our impeller seems to be blocked (again!).
Is there a simple way to fix this rather than sending it back to the shop?

yeah....pulling off your lower unit its more intimidating than it really is difficult. i recommend that you get a manual however. i found one on disc thats identical to the paperback for $5!!!!

Where did you find the digital version of the manual?
